I thought the cartoon was an attempt to devalue the original classic. Get the kiddie cartoon makers to do visuals that make the subject look like children's hour. The recons are much better anyway. The Welsh Vermin want to change history and wreck Dr Who's reputation. They probably wouldn't have let Earthshock, The Visitation or The Two Doctors out as the remake directly contradicts them.

Dan Hall has nothing to do with Cardiff.

But the selection of an animator who specialises in material for children and the briefing that came with the job certainly would have.

All British Animators specialise in Children's Material. The primary audience for animation in Britain, rightly or wrongly, is children. Animation designed for Adults in this country is relatively rare and even when Aardman do it, they get barely any audience compared to Wallace and Gromit.

We are not at the stage of American TV where they have Adult Animation such as the Simpsons, South Park, King of the Hill, American Dad, and Family Guy. (And like they were gonna be able tto hire one of them. Could you imagine what The Invasion would have been like if Matt Groening or Trey Parker and Matt Stone had animated it? Or perhaps the Japanese? In true anime style?)

British Animation has actively regressed since the 1980's. Our only big Animation House now is Aardman, and because it's stop motion it's expensive and slow. Cosgrove Hall are very experienced, and probably the second biggest animator after Aardman with several huge hits in Dangermouse and Count Duckula, both of which had hundreds of jokes aimed at Adults. I certainly appreciate both more now than when I was a kid when many of the jokes went over my head.

The briefing would have been to have stuck as close as possible to what is known about the episodes, however, seeing as the episodes are not to hand, they would have had to use their imaginations a bit. Sorry that that isn't perfect.

So your jibe is pointless and derogatory and quite ignorant of the actualities of getting any animation done these days.

So we have established that a cartoon cannot be made of sufficient standard to meet the requirements of Dr Who. Which could be a reason for doing it, if you wish to demean Dr Who's rep. The Loose Cannon team do a professional job. When I watch the Invasion I use that. Tremendous stuff.

Sometimes I think you're a troll.

Then I remember I once met someone who thinks in exactly the same way you do.

He used to be the controller of the Playboy channel.

Your name isn't Richard by any chance is it?

For what it's worth, I rather like the animated episodes of The Invasion.

Thank goodness for that.

Trolls aren't just imaginary fantasy creatures.

Your Cornell obsession is just ludicrous and at times scary.

Never said that. Simply meant that there are lots of definitions of Troll.

Cornell is indistinguishable from RTD in his works. A mega issue was made out of me pointing this out. RTD didn't produce the remake alone.
