Did RTD make the Daleks too super villainish?

I often wonder if the fact it's British makes people refuse to criticise it. Almost like jingoistic pride.

I don't think it's that, lots of other programmes come under heavy fire when they do something stupid. I think the reason people rarely question what the production team do is because most of the audience are too young to remember the original series and have absolutely know idea how ghastly NuWho really is. The inhabitants of GoonBase refuse to criticise anything Re Tar Ded has done because Doctor Who is too intelligent for them, they want explosions and shit, Hallmark-style emotion and epic endings instead of well-told intelligent science fiction drama. They like the idea behind Doctor Who but they are either indifferent or outright hostile to the show itself.

But NuPoo is tripe in absolute terms, not just relative terms.

Can you think of another sci-fi show where the underlying plotting is as woefully incompetent as Fathead's episodes? Can you think of a drama - or a kids' prgramme - that so utterly fails to meet even the most basic standard of professional competence? One-leap-and-they're-free endings are one thing but Fathead's idea of plotting is to fling shit at a wall and pretend the individual gobbets have formed a pattern.

Shitty straight-to-DVD movies that are virtually unwatchable display more grasp of cause-and-effect relationships than Fathead's absurd efforts.
