It's often been mentioned here that Who fans should never have been given the chance to write Who stories, and it's often cited that RTD is a case in point- yet on the thread next door, everyone seems to be tripping over each other to start their own canon of the series, with their own continuity. Why is it OK for some fans to write Who stories and others not? Have any of you taken a step back and looked at how hysterical and frankly ridiculous you're all getting?

A very valid point Greywoolfe. There is a not insignificant amount of hypocricy here. And it is no wonder on GB the members here are referred to as stereotypical geeky, virginal DW fans. A little perspective I think would help a lot of people. There is a great deal in the world to get angry about but I propose a throwaway line in a CBBC show isn't it.

Sorry Rani, protest all you like but it IS official. The evidence is in the FACTS.

The BBC SAY he IS immortal and if you don't believe that then suggest you take out a writ on the Guardian newspaper, you fool.

You have to be the biggest clown to have clowned their way out of Clownsbury on the back of a clown-car.
If the BBC have said this then my challenge to you, a simple, 'umble clown is this. Show me exactly where the BBC have stated this nd who at the BBC has done so.

Well doh!

I've given you the link half a dozen times pea-brain.

They have stated it to a Guardian journalist who was obviously present at a preview screening of The Sarah Jane Adventures episodes.

Fuck me, just because they haven't made a public statement or have gone through a third party to make the statement does not mean that they have made no statement you fool.

Honestly, it's like repeatedly bashing your fucking head against a brick wall.

Here is Rani at his Head Quarters being told the news:

No, it's just that you are too much of a numbskull to realise that the journalist was at the screening and has eroneously used the term immortal. There is nothing to attribute this to a BBC spokesperson. But I'm giving up hope of this ever penetrating your thick skull. Crying or Very sad

The Guardian journalist has stated that the BBC officially now consider The Doctor to be an immortal, journalists are under a strict code of conduct and can not make claims like that if they are untrue.

When it comes between choosing the reports of a professional journalist or your own inane fanboy fantasies, I think I would pick the unbiased reporting of the journalist every time.

Lol, so you believe everything a journalist writes, even in the Mail, Sun etc? You are such a naive little fool. Witness Robbie the Clown's idiocy everyone. Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Are you the one at the front left looking sad?

Although rags like The Sun are very dubious when it comes to reporting news, they are uncannily accurate when getting scoops on programmes/entertainment.

They were absolutely right about breaking the news about Fathead putting the series on ice for a year whilst you were getting all egg on over your face blathering about "waiting for official BBC statements" and denying catagorically that the BBC were ever put their "flagship programme" on ice like a complete and utter bloody fool.

YOU were the one that claimed this story came from a BBC press release, only to change your mind when I proved there was no release. The clear fact is that this journo was at the press screening and has used the word immortal in the headline to get a story. You really shouldn't be so gullible.

So which clown are you?

No, the only thing you proved was that the BBC haven't issued a public press release in the public domain - they didn't do either with RTD's hiatus until after the newspapers reported it or indeed when Eccleston quit, so there's nothing new there.

The fact that this was an exclusive press release made to journalists is just you trying to side track the issue of Fathead royally fucking the whole character and the programmes premise up.

Yes, exclusive to Journalists.

The fact that the BBC decided to make the journalists their channel of information public rather than their own press office is irrelevant.

Much like most of the rubbish you spout in fact.

Nonsense.

If you dig any deeper you'll be out the other side and find yourself in fucking Australia.
