Actually it was marketed as a family event Rani, which it clearly wasn't.

Rob I'm surprised you're complaining about the program when the cardboard cutout cybermen masks were selling at £5. Now that's extortion. The BBC should be ashamed.

Of course it was a family event, it is a family show. And Rob is clearly wrong as I didn't attend and am sensible enough not to.

A family show is fun for all the family. This clearly was not. Many were angry by the end as they felt it was poor.

And again I didn't pay to see it, I had little say in the matter.

Also, if you knew Housing Tennant and Rarely Touches Dictionary were going to a show near you, you'd have lapped up a ticket.

Indeed he would, no matter WHAT the cost!

I think Levine would have got him in as his plus one though! Very Happy

You're confused. You are saying the quality of the show was poor that does not change the fact that the nature of the material was that of a family show. And no, I would not have bought a ticket at that price whoever was there.

Some interesting reviews here

http://www.britevents.com/whats-on/glamorgan/cardiff/dr-who-live/169510/?page=reviews

Quote:

A lot of money just to watch previously shown watched tv clips of scenes from the programme to music from a very good band, and a few people dress in costumes parading around the floor. Waste of money and very disapointing

Total wast of money, I took my teenage son and wife we are all big Dr Who fans. Paying nearly £120 for the tickets, and with transport, drinks and nandos making it a £200 day out. To basically watch Dr Who clips on a large screen. Did discuss leaving at half time but decided to stay, saying it can only get better. WRONG. No sets, an army of 4 Cybermen and one or two other monsters. Only good thing is it less than one and half hours of my life wasted. rip-off get your money back if you can, and watch the repeats on iplayer.

Very disappointing. Low budget money spinner. Could they not have stretched to more than 3 or 4 aliens at a time? It seems not. So very energy. Bit like a cheap mall fashion show in fact!!

Saving grace was the band - the set was uninspiring but the music was great.

Saw this in Brum as part of a works trip. I took my two teenage children both Dr Who fans. After paying out over £100 for the tickets + £30 for the coach + £15 for drinks etc, I expected much more than 2 halves of 45minutes which were basically sat watching repeat Dr Who clips on a big screen with a small orchestra playing live in front. Occassionaly 4/5 actors dressed up as monsters and walked around the seats on the arena floor - a fair distance from us. Threaded through this was the compare role screaching panto like and spoiling the music. Only spectacular was a couple of explosions. Only good thing was that we were back home 40 miles away by 10.00pm. A complete and utter waste of money - a ripoff.

Saw it in Brum-have to say the whole thing felt cobbled together for the money. The first half was so flat & Nigel Planer had to work his butt off to get the crowd going. As for the plot- very disjointed way too many clips from the TV series to thread it all together & there was not nearly enough monsters/cast/special effects for the money it cost. The stage set looked like one of Gary Numan’s old sets from the 80s! Very Poor.

(In the interests of partiality I have included negative reviews only)

Well I think he did post this review

My daughter and I thought the show was amazing. All the favourite monsters were present and they interacted with the audience really well. The whole show was a must for any Dr Who fan but I would say it was better suited to children. The over the top die hard adult fans did ruin it somewhat for the kids. Overall i thought the show was fantastic, well worth the money and we would definately go again if they were to do another live show. Well done

It's people like that that makes me fear for humanity. What die-hard adult fans is he on about, I wonder? Fathead's supporters jeering like a football crowd?

But, judging by your opinion of the shag, cheaper than an escort who'd have given you a ride of similar quality. Bright side, eh?
