Anyone still play this ??? I love it, the fact you can find thousands of wads and mega wads and other cool add ons means this game will never die, still yet to play a FPS that tops this one

Still firing of a shot to make the different monsters fight each other always cracks me up Smile

Doom II was the first FPS I ever played. It's absolutely awesome.

It takes a really good FPS to get me excited these days. I hate all the scripting done in modern FPS games. Quake 4 is a good example; I used to love getting lost in Quake and Quake II. In Quake 4 it doesn't let you get lost, really. However Doom 3, which uses the same engine, is really awesome. That and Half Life 2 are probably my favourite single player FPS games of the '00s.

Multiplayer-wise: Counter-Strike: Source, Quake III: Arena and Counter-Strike 1.6. There is nothing like playing clan matches with voice comms over Ventrilo. It's such a life sapper.

EDIT: COD: Modern Warfare was good actually.

I couldn't agree more with every word in this sentiment.

Doom 3 and Half Life 2 were the very last of the last games which actually were as good as they promised to be.

Thief: Deadly Shadows wasn't too bad either once the higher resolution textures were added in to the game, but why they packaged it with the original clunky pixellated textures on the Unreal 2 engine completely defies all common sense.
