It's appallingly designed, with half the screen taken up by the title, but who can resist a reviewer who gives us such brilliant reviews like the following:

There's few words to describe just how irritating David Tennant can be in his first season as the Doctor. A capable actor, his performance is less than it could be as he engages the two audience demographics that old Who just could never reach: young women in their 20s and 30s and 12-year-old girls. How does he do this? Well, the 20s/30s generation get hooked because, frankly, he's a bit preddy looking. As for the 12-year-old girls, David Tennant hooks them by playing the Doctor... as a 12-year-old girl. Squealing and whooping his way round the universe with a mockney accent, it's Prick Van Dyke, the most slappable Time Lord since Colin Baker entered a pie-eating contest with Tony Selby.

As for his first full story as the Doctor then it's low-brow toss with two-dimensional "aliens" so underdeveloped that they won't upset any of Joe Public who wants a completely undemanding Christmas view. Job done then. Perhaps the silliest scene involves his hand being chopped off and growing back without so much of a drop of blood. Supporters of this sub-par telly will protest that you couldn't show blood to a family audience on Christmas Day. Quite right. So would not the most logical thing be to not write a scene that would require it in the first place?

This isn't written by one of you guys perchance?

That metaphor about Colin, pies and Tony Selby is a dead giveaway. I believe that doctorwhoreviews is a smartened up version of these reviews:

Those reviews are written by the Anorak of Anorak Zone fame.

He is a member of the LH, but he rarely posts here.
