As you all no doubt know, my beloved Nottingham Forest finished a magnificent third in the Championship and will be playing Blackpool in the play-off semi-final. The away leg is on Saturday and the home fixture next Tuesday. Hopefully, (unless there are any Tangerines on the forum) you'll all become Garibaldi Reds for a while. I went down to the City Ground to get my ticket for the home fixture earlier today. I'll keep you all posted!

I've got a mate from Blackpool.

Go Tangerines! Go Seasiders!

Those lads look like the descendants of what The Sheriff of Nottingham wiped his bum with.

Blackpool 2 - Nottingham Forest 1

Hmm. The tie hangs in the balance. Great goal by Chris Cohen to put Forest ahead only for Blackpool to show great resiliance in dreadful conditions and on a terrible pitch. Only a brilliant save from the Blackpool keeper denied Cohen with the final kick of the match. Blackpool deserved to win the game, but with the fixture so finely balanced, anything could happen in the second leg on Tuesday evening.

Derby County's Robbie Savage claims not to be bitter about Forest's magnificent season.

Laughing

They deserved it over the two legs, and they were the only team to beat Forest twice in the league this season. For what it's worth, myself and a considerable number of Forest fans applauded Blackpool off the pitch last night and the gesture was returned in turn by Ian Holloway and his team. Good luck to them.

If it's any consolation B, Blackpool did go on to win the playoff final against Cardiff and are now in the Premiership, it's great to see such a small club in the big time, although unlike Burnley, I really hope they can stay up ...

And for the record, I'm tipping Forest to finish top 2 in the Championship next season, will be wonderful to see such a great club back in the premiership.

Don't let any Blackpool fans hear you call them "a small club" Laughing I hope they do well next season.

Hmm, Forest finishing second next season. Not sure myself. It depends on keeping the better players (Camp, Gunter, Cohen) and obtaining some quality players. A decent left-back is a priority.
