Another classic from the Hinchcliffe era, this (unlike the pretentious soap-oprea new series by RTD) is a wonderful and spooky and atmospheric story from the one of the golden ages of Doctor Who ...

Great story, wonderful acting and direction, an a wonderful villian in Morbius plus Phil Madoc and the Sisterhood of Karn, this came from a time where story-telling was more important then false/artifical CGI, farting alien monsters and horrid sleazy sexual innuendo ...

I am looking foward to watching another classic Doctor Who story ..
Much more enjoyalbe then most of the crud been churned out today ...

Wonderful news.

Barry Newbury pretty much gave the game away on the Time Meddler commentary (see my comments on the relevant thread).

More real Who on DVD!

I like the bits where Solon calls Condo a chicken brained biological disaster and also the bit where he picks up Morbius's brain after it falls out the tank and blows Condos guts out.

Oh yeah. the bit where Condo reflects on tied up Sarah and say's "Girl pretty, Condo likes" and Sarah flinches away from him and Solon says "Okay that's enough she doesn't like it" always makes me laugh too.

The Sisterhood Of Karn are boring though.

The Brain of Morbius is a good one, and it's imminent DVD release will save me recording it off UKTVDrama.

Some of the dialogue in this one really sparkles and Philip Madoc is great.

Yeah Phillip Madoc conveys Solons single minded obsessiveness very well indeed.

Madoc would have made a good Doctor actually.

Truly dire. I've never understood this one's lofty reputation - shoddily made, lamely acted (Sladen is at her very worst) and nonsensically plotted. One of Tom's worst, and a real chore to sit through.

Good news-I like this story, with its shout-outs to "Frankenstein",
"She" (the flame of Karn) and "Donovan's Brain".

It's a really good Target, one of my favourites. On the page there aren't the issues with the stagey outdoor sets, Sarah isn't so annoying and we're allowed to know what Solon is thinking, which makes him less of a buffoon and more of a dangerous opponent.
