Is anyone looking forward to this? As tacky as they are i'm a bit of a fanboy for these, not so much for the missions, but for the sandbox environment & the possibilities once one has unlocked the various aspects of the game.

As long as the city is bigger & more intricately detailed, and they have not tampered with the control system, i'll be very happy

The map does indeed look fairly huge (assuming it's fairly close to the scale of the real life area it seems to reproduce), with decent degree of variation (i'm assuming this from the place names, woods, beachland, industrial areas, surburbia, projects, uptown areas etc)

I have to say I cannot wait to attain Neo-like levels of power and tear this lovely looking virtual city apart

The multiplayer options (deathmatch, cops vs robbers, territory wars, all with 16 player support) sound pretty nice though, although unfortunately we don't get the constantly online city with hundreds of players warring for control that seems to be the inevitable coming high point of the series (and the total annihilation of my social life).

Vice City had the best feel of any GTA game, but San Andreas had the extra features that just about make it the winner there.

I've played the new one & it's pretty good, the graphics are alright, sort of 8/10-ish. But the whole thing is far more realistic, you can get killed in a car crash & the handling of the vehicles is fairly realistic - which is very weird in a GTA game.

But generally it's bloody amazing & i'm sure it will eventually become my favourite

Personally I *was* looking forward to the new Postal 3 coming out until I learned the idiots have decided to make it in to a fucking third person perspective load of crap.

WHY?WHY?WHY?GOD,WHY?

My problem with San Andreas was that the graphics were a bit samey sometimes, so you'd loose some details... I don't mind the "long stretches of nothing" cause it gave me a great hiding spot to run aboot when Da Po Po came after me....ahoogah bitches! you don't swim!

The girlfriend thing was a little stupid but i liked the get outta jail free girlfriend and the Sexy Jeep which was the nurse... NUUUURSE!!! ANESTHETIC!

Played a bit of IV yesterday with another Sexy Jeep (who sadly smokes so she'll miss my love)... that "crashing can kill you" reminded me a bit of Driver Parallel Lines but finally i can do a reverse 180 on a GTA game.

Best thing about Vice City? It was the easiest to survive if the FBI was after yer sorry ass. I once managed to go the airport, kill a sh1tload of people, high tail it to Vercetti Mansion, gear up, go to a rampage to the mall, go back to Casa Vercetti, tool up again, repeat till bored. Since there's no other aerial stuff to knock you out (like the jet fighters from San Andreas), once you get the Brown Thunder you are pretty much unstoppable to be a complete sphincterhole.

Hey, FobRilth... where ya read that about Postal??? What the Boll is wrong with them?!?!

Postal 3 was all looking so sweet when I first read about it using a developed version of the HalfLife2 engine and I saw the first really cool looking screenshots of the game I was looking forward to it and exploring and causing mayhem in the environments as Postal dude, and then they go and completely fucking ruin it by making it third person perspective.

Fucking idiots.

Well I won't be bloody well playing it now.
