That's what he would have said in New Who. Laughing

How long do you think before George Lucas sues Rusty for plagiarism?

Ludders, you're the winner, and you're getting a pint next time I come down.

So from Traken he escape did.

On topic, I reckon the runners up for 'most boring Classic story' are probably:

The Daleks:
Episode 1: OH, GRANDFATHER - LOOK OUT!
Episode 2: Ooh, look - Daleks!
Episode 3: Hmmm.
Episode 4: Well, that was fu - YOU WANKER.
Episode 5: Sigh.
Episode 6: Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Episode 7: Thank. Fuck.

The Time Warrior - By my sword, Bloodaxe, this one's a bit shit.

Underworld - Zeus' beard, will it never end?!

[Meglos would go here, if the whole 'evil cactus' thing wasn't so hilariously misjudged, and Tom didn't camp it up as Meglos so much.]

Black Orchid - Tegan dances the Charleston. Nyssa (or is it Annie?) says that something's a 'simply wizard idea'. Two of the key background characters vomit plot over one another. Peter Davison bowls someone out. THE END.

Arc of Infinity - There's the Black Guardian... and then Omega... and then... err... some running around in Amsterdam. Oh, yeah: lots of rubbish-looking Gallifrey and some half-hearted council scenes... and a really rubbish Omega set, but quite a decent costume. And some random hikers who get lost in part 1 and don't appear again. Ever.

The Twin Dilemma - Colin is a decent actor. Nicola Bryant's accent shows just what a bad mistake it was. MELODRAMA iN THe TARDIS. Irritating children get kidnapped by a probable space-paedo. The Doctor discovers space-paedo's hideaway. Space-paedo is actually a Time Lord. Mestor is displeased. Tinfoil Earth spaceships are crap. The Doctor beats Mestor with some crayons, or some equally dumb shit. Cybele's bollocks, it's like the first season of Star Trek, The Next Generation done on a Doctor Who budget and a year early. And with Nicola Bryant's fucking accent.

*plagiarism

Yes, yes I know Morbius blah, blah, blah. But let's ignore that for the moment, on the basis that it was actually good. Also on the basis it brought Frankenstein to Doctor Who, rather than bringing Doctor Who to Star Wars. Phew. Laughing

In keeping with all this Traken business - I re"watched" the Logopolis commentary the other day, in which Tom calls out this line for close attention, and on more than one occasion Bidmead flat out praises the "wonderful writing". It just doesn't feel very British.

I think you're conflating boring with 'shit' a little bit here.

Laughing

Quite possibly. I tend to find shit stories boring.
