Thread primarily for the new British/Aussie produced series shown in Oz and on a UK satellite Disney channel earlier in the year. It is to be shown on UK terrestrial TV on Five in the Autumn / Winter of 2010.

More info here:

I've heard it's shit but will give it a glance when its on. It can't be that bad if Jon Blum can't get a gig writing for it. Laughing

Of course they've tried a K9 series once before. Which was very shit.

The Levine theme to K9 and company always cracks me up. It is terrible. I have heard the tubster making various excuses about it Laughing

Last I checked, he was waffling on endlessly about sending in a draft script. I don't think he ever got a reply.

Ugh... I'll pass thanks.

Didn'r realise Mr. Levine wrote that theme tune - I actually sort of like that.

I think it's fairly typical of early 80's TV themes, many shows from that era had plonky synth theme tunes, it's not especially pleasant on the ears, but I've heard worse.

Having failed to get a K9 script gig, Jon Blum falls back on training K9's new nemesis to deal with the dog.

If arsekissing equalled promotion Jon Blum would be head of Pixar by now.

What the frak have they done to that poor dog? It looks to be a bit more for older kids than the SJA audience, and at least halfway watchable, but the redesign for K-9 is hideous.

This is one spin off I have never bothered to check out, although the original K9 appears in episode 1 and the series features John Leesons voice, the horrible Disney redesign and crappy wannnabe RTD dumbfuck type humour in the trailers just put me off immediately.

Has anyone seen the full series or could shed light on if any of it is worthwhile viewing?

I like Levine's K9 and Company theme, too. He's later made comments along the lines of it was meant to be a demo and theme tuned played by orchestra but frankly that just wouldn't work. It's right for the synthy treatment that it got.

I mean, I like Kraftwerk but The Model just wouldn't work with an orchestra.

I have seen none of it yet feel able to state with absolute confidence that it is utter shite with nothing to justify its existence. I will happily reiterate this position in a court of law if need be.
