Seen both of them, the funniest bit in the former is when that corpse floats up to the top of the sea and scares the people in the boat Laughing

It: the terrror from beyond space is great but a bit tragic because it could have been greater - if they'd been less willing to show the monster, it would have aged better. It is a fairly tense & claustrophobic film

Yeah, that corpse does look awesomely realistic Smile
'It, the terror from beyond the stars' was fairly well realised and has a good atmosphere throughout, I put it in the higher leagues of 50s B movies.
Ive been replacing a lot of my old off air recordings of B movies recently with DVD, some of them are really cheap, but a couple are so expensive; I think caltiki the imortal monster was £30 or something silly. I will wait for a reissue of that. Tonight I will probably watch attack of the giant leeches for the first time in about 10 years Smile

2 I'm after is "Terror from the year 5000" and the 1975 Tyburn movie "The Ghoul" (with John Hurt & Peter Cushing). The Ghoul is starting to piss me off, the amount of hacked up to buggery shitty transfers I've bought Rolling Eyes

I Spit on Your Grave. Just rubbish, a piss-poor Deliverance, but with a lady. Not worth attention let alone notoriety.

To be honest, I always regarded that film as a piece of piss poor exploitation that used itself as an excuse for a protracted scene of rape porn. I never dug that film.

I love exploitation films, but I always regarded this one as a piece of shit with zero charm or talent. Simple as. Glad you didnt like it either! And as to why this film has rep, I cant even begin to imagine why this has rep over, for example, 'they call her one eye' .What the fuck. Its an infinitely better piece of sleaze and also a good piece of cinema. I spit is neither good cinema nor groundbreaking nor shocking. Just a bit hackneyed, shit, and rape fixated. Oy vey.

Has anyone else here watched 'trapped'??? Its a really 'good' quality B standard film from the late 70s about redneck types in some weird closed village in the middle of nowhere. i gota VHS of this obscurity way back in the day from a car boot sale, I was well happy to see it has now been released on DVD.

I would recomend it as a grimy late 70s B movie to any cats who dig this shit.

Im now patiently waiting for a DVD release of 'the refridgerator'. I fucking looooooooooooove that film!!!!!*

*Haunted refidgerator biznis, 80s style.

Not a haunted refridgerator movie, but have you ever seen "fobidden zone"? that's one of the odder films on my shelf. i think the lil guy from fantasy island's in it, and a frog-headed butler, and the devil... you get the gist!

just waded through the heavy weight classic 'slave girls from beyond infinity'.
I can see how this film might be painfuly difficult for some to get through, but I regard it as mainly flawed in so much as theres not nearly enough tits in it really for a film with this name.
If you have a burning desire for films that may well put you to sleep, this is possibly 'the one'. Theres some eye poppingly rubbish special effects as well if that swings your decision.

I think today might be the day that I finally pull the Prince of Space/Invasion of the Neptune Men double bill (non MST3K versions)

That sounds pretty good to me!! Make sure youve got some downers though, in case it really comes on top too strong, lol!!

Its a pity when you can only find MST3k versions of films. I personaly found the joke to wear a bit thin after a while and kinda like the films to speak for themselves. Not that I have anything against MST3K per say, I used to watch it on a saturday afternoon on bravo, years and years ago. I just prefer the originals!

Do people here get the 'midnight' movies R1 double bill DVDs? Theres some pretty excellent double bills for a couple of quid on these, picture quality tends to be good for the most part as well.

I picked up Slave Girls from Infinity recently as well, it's like they were making 2 different films at once but neither was long enough so they just hacked them together with what seemed to be some left over sets from The Crystal Maze.

On the MST3K, yes there are films in the series that having the riffing over takes away from it like Diabolik for example but then there are films that are pretty much impossible to watch without the riffing.

I do like me an MST3K and very rarely get bored - the joke rate is just too damn high to not get the occasional chuckle.

In the early days of their DVD releases, they used to negotiate the rights to also include the uncut, unriffed version of the film but sadly that practice has long fallen into disuse.

I'm not sure I'd ever attempt Manos: The Hands of Fate in its original form, but I know for a fact that I'd love to see Pumaman properly.
