'Death and the Maiden' - Another excellent movie by Roman Polanski.

Watched 28 Weeks Later on bootleg yesterday and I can barely remember it. Probably give it a watch again tomorrow.

I have flashes of greatness so I think it was good. Very Happy

THIS IS MOI FAKKIN MANOR

I disagree. There was a lot of story in those poker scenes. Very refreshing to have some older-style film-making make a return rather than aimless fast-cut action.

You ought to catch 'The Cincinnati Kid' starring Steve McQueen sometime. Wink

i vaguely remember that movie, doesnt he lose a game of coin toss at the end or something?

i dunno, personally i don't know how to play poker so during the lengthy poker bits i didnt really know what was happening, and when people winced or a dramatic reveal of a hand was made, i didnt really feel the impact...i was like "oh...that's good, is it? Confused". i was pretty drunk when i watched it though Razz .

such a glorious improvement over the last two though, the franchise had started to descend into trash again, i felt.

I know nothing of poker either. Maybe it was the drink... try watching movies sober Wink lol

Actually, when I was a teen (a long time ago), I heard that a friend of mine had gone to watch 'The Return of the Jedi' while under the influence of LSD.

In this case the drug enhanced the experience. Jabba the Hutt appeared and he screamed the cinema down and tried hiding under the seat... until he was physically removed from the building.

LOL, if I was to ever do LSD again, Return Of The Jedi would be the last film I'd watch.

i have watched "The Daemons" on magic mushrooms, that was really cool.
it was about 5am-ish on a sunday, i was sat in bed with the tv at the end of the bed, and at one point i looked out the window and outside it was a green field, which i was convinced was the church green where bok gets destroyed & reassembles himself. except i was two floors up, and there was no window next to my bed Laughing

As Liam knows, I've got this Jean Luc Godard thing going on at the moment.

Last two watched were Vivre Sa Vie and Tout Va Bien.

Next up will be Two or Three Things I Know About Her.

Also in the "To Watch" pile:

Dreyer's Ordet

A massive Fritz Lang box set (beautifully cleaned-up versions of both Mabuse films, Metropolis, M, and Spion)

Béla Tarr's Sátátangó (all eight hours of it!)

I think I'd need very heavy sedatives to watch Love and Monsters again.

Tell me about it.

I have to drink a bottle of wine before I can watch the new series.

I watched "Revenge Of The Cybermen" on LSD once and it was great!

The TV swallowed me up and it felt like I was actually on Space Station Nerva Beacon!
