One for the Forteans here:

Quote:
Mr. Johnson interpreted this mark as a sign of the divine, but from where we're sitting, it looks more like a harbinger of mass extermination.

Doesn't really look very much like anything, to me. I suppose you could interpret it as a figure with outstretched arms (just), or as a Dalek; but I don't really think either is a terribly convincing way of looking at it, TBH.

Heh, I like checking out Fortean Times. Smile I have a great interest in the supernatural, cryptozoology, mythology and folklore, as well as weird stories.

Hmm, first we are warned of imminent Cyber attack and now this...we're in trouble people! Classic Who was a warning but we didn't listen! Laughing

Indeed, it's all a conspiracy!

Somebody-I think it was Keith Parsons-speculated that humans might have
a propensity to impose patterns on random images. So the farmer interprets
this weird shape as the Man Upstairs, but we see villain from a popular TV
program.

Sounds like a plot from the "X-Files"- farmer discovers weird sign in
tree he chops down, then creepy shit happens, and Mulder and Scully come
along.

Looks more like a tripod from the novel War of the Worlds than a Dalek to me.

Use to love the TV show of FT. I wish it would come back. I've got a paranomal matter for them to investigate.

Pah. You so-called sceptics are all the same. Blinded by the truth of the so-called facts... you just go ahead and be sceptical... we'll see who is right...
etc... etc....

Our man in the blue box said it as well: "I love humans- always seeing patterns in things which aren't there."

If you found an image of a macra in a tree, would that make it a simulacra terror?
