If anyone's interested, this has been confirmed by the BBC:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/8362658.stm

Should be interesting. Moorcock's always been one of the most original and challenging of science-fiction/fantasy writers. Just for once, I'll look forward to this with interest.

Resumably this will be part of the ongoing range of novels?

Interesting it was Colin's Doctor that stopped him watching until the new series came on. Laughing

Why is it?

It was during Colins time that the show fell under the creative direction of Grade who pulled the teeth from it and the hated Bonnie Langford was cast.

The regular audience had stuck with the programme up until that point and and in fact had been slowly growing during Colins first season.

Well, he did say he thought the new guy had already started, and wasn't aware David Tennant was still doing it! Can't be watching the current series much, then!

I don't usually do Who fiction.
Used to read Moorcock years ago. Mostly remember the Elric books, (i called my cat Elric!) Laughing and 'Time of the Hawklords'.
Still got a copy of 'The Black Corridor' kicking around somewhere, i think.

I suspect like most people he started off watching out of curiosity, stuck with it for a bit, and finally had to admit that it was crap. Razz

Well, let's face it, any writer of talent and imagination would not be impressed by Davies!

I think Moorcock is an irregular watcher of the new series, but he
was a huge fan of the old DW. Harlan Ellison in the intro to the Pinnacle
reprints of the Target novelizations, says Moorcock introduced him
to DW.

I haven't read any of Moorcock's current work, but his DW novel might
be interesting.

Clearly came to that conclusion with Colin's Doctor.

Nonsense.

Colins Doctor drew back the audiences who were bored with Davison before Grade interfered.
