I've actually promised I won't watch Doctor Who again
until Moffat takes over.

I wonder what we can expect from a Moffat-helmed
Doctor Who? Scary monster episode (TEC/TDD, GITF,
Blink, SITL/FOTD, & also Jekyll) feisty female companion
(Blink, & Press Gang) sexual innuendo (TEC & Coupling).

Probably no Master, as Moffat is on record as disliking the
character. No Time Lords either-in the 1999 DWM interview
he said he hated them. More UNIT,maybe?

To experience the sweet, one must first take the sour/overwhelming pile of shit.

Life's too short to waste on watching TV you have a 95% chance
of knowing will be no good.

Anyway, with luck the public will become bored of RTD's
limited repertoire of cliches and return in droves when Moffatt
takes over.

Make it a social event, get some mates over, have some beers, and even if the episodes are shite, they're still Dr Who and you've still got friends and beer. This approach more or less got me through series 3.

It can make you the subject for extreme humiliation from your mates when the episodes are completely pants however such as the truly shitehouse "Partners In Grime" fiasco or the appalling "Last of the Time Turds".

Sounds like a bit of a risky venture to me, especially if the episode has "written by Russell T Davies" smugly emblazoned over it.

The bad news is that I don't drink alcohol. Sad I've heard
RTD's episodes aren't so bad if you're p*ssed at the time. Rolling Eyes

Ah yes but then you go: 'That was shite! Let's watch Genesis of the Daleks' and they say 'Yes it was shite, but let's not watch Genesis of the Daleks' and you say 'yeah ok what do we do then?' and they say 'don't ask us, we're figments of your imagination' and then you're really buggered...

Don't drink? Hm.. I've often found that people who don't drink really do have better things to be doing with their time so yeah, fair enough. Don't watch the forthcoming specials.

They're even better if you are unconscious.

I've often said that in order to fully appreciate Davies's talent, it helps if one is in a persistent vegetative state.

Even that isn't enough to escape the ineptitude of a Pip & Jane Baker script.

Pip and Jane Baker are Robert Holmes compared to Fathead T Davies.

No, Pip & Jane are not Robert Holmes

No, Pip & Jane are not Robert Holmes

They are compared to the poor quality writing Hackhead T Drivel comes out with.

Stephen Greenhorn is a pretty lousy writer- "Lazarus Experiment" and "Doctor's Daughter" would need a crate-load of LSD to become enjoyable. Rolling Eyes

While I agree that The Lazarus Experiment was a pile of plop, I rather enjoyed The Doctor's Daughter.* Strangely, I enjoyed* the series 4 stories Fires of Pompeii through to The Sontaran Strategem/The Poison Sky. It returned to a state of cack with Roberts' Agatha Christie disaster. And sadly, I was very disappointed by Moffat's library two-parter.

*Given level of New Who enjoyment: not that great.
