Has anyone ever owned a samurai sword who wasn't a certifiable maniac? Maybe that's why they sell them, so they know where to send the men in white coats.

Yeah it's usually those tense, power fantasy people who own 900 ninja movies Laughing

They also all seem to be convinced that a rather brittle length of hollow iron will cut through anything - tank armour included...

I blame the anime boom, myself.

Laughing You can blame anime for a lot of dodgy things in society - kids cartoons that are just half hour trading card adverts, elements of the emo aesthetic, and what I perceive to be an increasingly tolerant attitude towards lolita bullshit

speaking of which!

I own a samurai Sword. But I also own Sabres, rapiers, longswords and arming swords.
But then I do study Western Martials Arts/Historial European Martial Arts - fencing with proper swords. And also make prop stuff so....

The lolita thing worries me, and not just because you have never seen a attractive girl in that "get up". The Emilie Autumn look doesn't count.

I don't disagree, but it seems odd given the paedosteria that has descended on this country in the last decade.

Oh I have.

They are usually Japanese however, Goth girls with tattoos and piercings just can't pull that look off, no matter how hard they try.

To be honest I don't think there's much collation between lolita style/dress and paedo behaviour, I mean when I first starting noticing girls they all dressed like that however I have absolutely no interest in children, sexual or otherwise. They smell of sweets and piss - blerk.

It's like the myth that grown men in to infantalism (dressing up as babies) are paedos, when they are nothing of the sort and largely prefer older women.

It's basically just a form of costume fetishism/role play.

Most paedos prefer not to draw attention to themselves and like to blend perfectly in to society as a cover, usually by holding respectable authoritative positions, they certainly don't parade around their girlfriends in public dressed in lolita-wear holding teddybears and make an exhibition of it.

Yeah I should be more specific, I didn't mean the dress style, I meant the sun having a countdown until they can show a girl on page 3, people not really giving a shit when blokes have 14/15 year old girlfriends etc

While I'm here...

Xzibit pimp my ride is achieving internet fame

the original, which sends up the excesses of the programme (where unsuspecting car owner's vehicles are modded up & fitted with jacuzzis, x boxes etc)

and now the inevitable nine zillion variations, some good some rubbish
