From an interview with RTD:

Fantastic news!!!!

Quote:
Now that you have handed control to Steven Moffat, do you intend to leave him to it, or will you write the occasional episode in the future?
Ben Parkes, Grimsby; Mickey Bean, London; Rob Stickler, Sedgley; Adam Chamberlain, London; Steve O'Brien, Bath; David Foxen, Austria; Susan Pye, Ayr; Rhys Martin, Bankhurst (and more)

I think Steven's more than his own man. He doesn't need me at all.

I won't write for it in the future. I'm done with it.

It's time to move on and I'd hate to be just a ghost haunting the corridors that I used to walk.

And who needs me? Because Steve's brilliant and they've got a thousand million plans. I'll just be old news and it's about time.

WEEP IT UP RANI!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

(Does a Bernard Cribbens Button Moon dance in the back garden) Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I really hope so.

However, the thing about Rubber Turd Dildo is, he likes to make you think that someone is dead/exiled/mindwiped/generally fucked off, only to have them turn up again in half a dozen episodes thanks to the sonic screwdriver/Davros' nefarious plan/magic/an ego the size of a planet.

RTD may be out, but we will be seeing his shadow on the cave walls for much time to come, I think.

Good point Professor. Doubtless RTD will continue to write sh1t DW stories in a parallel world, thanks to being given his very own clone of Jane Tranter.

No, but it seemed apposite.

I think this is a shame, it may be a few years but I think that RTDs should return to write an episode, maybe co writer a multi Doctor episode featuring Tennant.

but I think there is a good chance he will.

I guess that will sort of depend on Tennant and if he wants to return, but having seen his total fanboy spaz for the 7 minutes of Time Crash, it seems a safe bet he will return at some point.

We're getting shot of the RTD era at last, don't go saying stuff like that Laughing

I dont disagree that it is time for him to move on, Planet of the Dead made that clear, but 5 years time im sure he will want a part in a multi Doctor story.

I can't see Chris Eccleston, Paul McGann, Colin Baker or Tom Baker agreeing to do a script by Rupert T Despicable. Even Sylv wouldn't go there. And if it takes five years, Matt Smith will be so spoilt by Moffatts scripts, he'll see straight through Rtd2's fuckwittery.

An RTD Multi Doctor story will only ever consist of Tennant and Peter

Unfortunately out of that list the only one who I can see who definitely wouldn't come back in a Russell Turd Davies Special is Eccleston.
Previous Old Skool actors have sold their souls to Fathead T Davies such as Sladen and Davison and indeed Courtney, and show an eager willingness to jump in there as soon as Russell says "jump" - there is unfortunately nothing to suggest that Colin, Syl, McGann or indeed under extreme duress that Tom Baker would not work with Fathead

To be honest, I really doubt any of them would Rob. Apart from the fact that Tom, Colin and Sylv have all completely changed physically and Peter is the only one who can carry off his old image any more, Colin is the one who cared most about the role, who wants to see it done right, so he'd be out. Tom admits in DWM that he's never watched nUWHo, and so probably isn't aware of how appalling the writing is, and we know what his opinions of bad writing are. Paul is the most serious actor of the lot, and likes a good character to get his teeth into, it took a lot to get him back for Big Finish. Sylv I'm not sure about, but he is a character actor, not a lead, always has been, and RTD wouldn't know how to write for him (Moff would). Pete only did it cos he see's the original series as a bit of a joke and adores the new (Witness his commentaries with Janet Fielding) and he can still carry it off physically. It would surprise me immensely if any of the others were to turn up in Nuwho.
