http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/cult/s47/sarah-jane-adventures/news/a282154/sja-exec-unsure-about-who-crossovers.html

Quote:

The producer of The Sarah Jane Adventures has claimed that the show will avoid another crossover with Doctor Who in the near future.

Matt Smith will appear as the Doctor in the forthcoming two-part adventure 'Death of the Doctor'.

Phil Ford told Last Broadcast: "We have to remember that this is The Sarah Jane Adventures and Doctor Who is another show. Crossing the boundary is fun every now and again, but I'm not sure we should do it all the time."

He added that another crossover between the two programmes could begin to "look like a stunt".

"This was a great opportunity for Sarah Jane to meet the new Doctor," he said. "But I'd be wary of him coming back too much. Schedule-wise for the two shows it can be a logistical nightmare too."

However, Ford insisted that he is not entirely ruling out a future appearance from the Doctor.

"I'm sure he'll be back again some time," he said.

The first part of 'Death of the Doctor' will air on October 25 on the CBBC channel.

This is big. Ford is stating the obvious here. There's no reason why Matt Smith should even be in SJA except that RTD and Tennant have returned from America having completely failed and want a slice of the action. Ford obviously disagrees, thinking that SJA should have its own identity, without having to rely on Doctor Who.

This shows up the reality of RTD. He doesn't care about the actual shows he makes, he simply barges in mucks everyone around, makes as big a statement as possible (immortality) in order to get as many headlines as possible with his name on them.

Why is Moffatt allowing him to get away with this crap? Even if the BBC are pushing for the regeneration limit to be changed so they can milk the cash cow, why is it not being done on Doctor Who? A throwaway line in a spin off that his execs are even admitting looks just like a stunt.

Don't be fooled by thinking that Ford is warning against future crossovers. He's talking about this one. After all, Tennant and Barrowboy only turned up in SJA last year in The Wedding of SJ, and of course the year before that it was Journey's End and on and on and on. Ford's fed up with it. When will the fawning RTD'ers get it? The man is a blatant self promoting git with no more talent than other self promoting gits such as Jade Goody.

I can't decide whether it's too soon or not Laughing

Not suggesting I liked Jade Goody, you understand, I was repulsed by her.

I couldn't think of anyone else who did so much to turn egocentrism in the modern era into a virtue as Goody did. Nowadays people are using their ego as a career choice because of her.

It's definitely not too soon. I've heard all the stories about how she was a lovely person and devoted to her kids, and I'm sure that's true, but the fact that she was on tv so much meant that she turned such vices as a complete lack of intelligence, education or tolerance, into virtues that kids everywhere wanted to follow. She didn't succeed despite her lack of ability. She succeeded because of it and hence was an absolute disaster as a role model which she became to millions of people.

As a result, although this sounds callous. I'm glad she's gone because she was actually promoting things like not getting an education, not thinking, being racist and living off the media, to millions of her fans and doing irreparable damage to them and the country as a whole. I don't hold any ill will against her as a person. She was too stupid to understand the world and what she was doing. But she should never ever have been allowed anywhere near a tv camera. The media hold just as much culpability.

I agree, Ford is obviously worried about Fatheads big fat head not being able to fit out of the door again and him hanging around to fuck everything up with his egotistic self-promotion all the time now that the Yanks have told him to fuck off after seeing him for the talentless oaf he is.

As far as PoohWho writers goes I actually rate Phil Fords output - given the drivel briefs he gets landed with, he at least produces scripts which are consistent and appear to have gone through more than one draft unlike the other on-the-fly acolytes of Fathead.

I'd hardly think Tennant and RTD have "failed",though. The Fat Welshman has a US version of Twitwooden coming up and Tennant has acting roles in
"Single Father".
