I dunno. Im pretty gutted about this release. I quite like revenge, but as some of you may be aware, I hate McCoy with a passion. I think I will have to pass on this releaase rather than have another McCoy on my shelf. I recently threw out my off air VHS recordings of McCoy, I couldnt find an alternative home for them, oh well!! Maybe I will just download the revenge elements and burn to disc; something I never usualy do with a who release. Its actually a really weird idea releasing a Baker and a McCoy as a box set. I dont get it.

I know what you mean. I was most annoyed at being forced to buy K9 & Co.
But you could always do what i do, and sell the one you don't want on eBay.
I've done this with the likes of Warriors of the Deep, & others. I did quite well too. Some fool paid me £8.00 for K9 & Co. Laughing
I'll certainly be offloading Silly Nemesis the same way! Very Happy

That might have been me. I paid £8 for K9 & Co on ebay.

But only cos I didn't read it properly. I was expecting k9 tales to pop through my letterbox. Was mightily pissed off when I only got the one.

Although to be fair, i did make the listing very clear. Even the picture was just K9 & Co, and not actually K9 Tales.

I still have the empty cardboard sleeve if you want it
Shall we say, a fiver? Wink Laughing

It's not a problem.

anyway, back to Silver Nemesis, Revenge.

The date for release is 9th August. Glad revenge is finally being released, can watch Season 12 in full now Smile

What's it been though? 6 box sets this year? Chase, Myths + Legends, Kamelion Tales, Cybermen, Dalek War, Peladon Tales. (Or were peladon and dalek war last year? I've lost track).

I've just counted again, we're down to 29 titles to be released, 27 after Cybermen.

Getting close to the end folks Cool

I wonder if Revenge will come with an option to watch it with new Cybervoices, like in the video below?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caJ1wxzzI8Y&feature=PlayList&p=2B84698CA9D33483&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=48

I suspect that this would vastly improve the story. The original voices are incredibly offputting.

EDIT: Professor, Peladon and Dalek War were indeed last year's.

Slip Cover and details now available on DWO:

Revenge Special Features:

Special Features:

• Commentary with actors Elisabeth Sladen and David Collings, producer Philip Hinchcliffe.
• The Tin Man and the Witch - a look back at the making of the story, with director Michael E. Briant, incoming producer Philip Hinchcliffe and outgoing producer Barry Letts.
• Location Report - New Doctor Tom Baker is interviewed by BBC News on location at Wookey Hole during the location shoot for the story.
• Cheques, Lies and Videotape - in the days before official VHS and DVD releases, Doctor Who fans had no option but to swap and trade episodes with other fans, often for extortionate sums of money. Featuring interviews with fans Jamie Wells, Paul Jones, Dave Hankinson, David Palfreyman, Alison Lawson and Damian Shanahan.
• Photo Gallery.

Nemesis Special Features

• Commentary with actors Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred, director Chris Clough and script editor Andrew Cartmel.
• Industrial Action - cast and crew look back at the making of this story. With actors Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred and Gerard Murphy, director Chris Clough, writer Kevin Clarke, script editor Andrew Cartmel, stunt arranger Nick Gillard and musician Courtney Pine.
• Deleted and Extended Scenes.
• Trails and Continuity - BBC1 trails and continuity announcements from the story's original transmission.
• Photo Gallery

Anyone else think the Special Features are getting quite sparse and pretty poor? certainly for Nemesis, which is an anniversary story after all, and Revenge which finishes off possibly the finest season in Who History.

I really wish they'd finish off the PDF's of the annuals. And get those recons in. Dan Hall really pisses me off.

Is suspect that they just rushed these out without a load of special features simply because they aren't particularly interesting stories. Mind you, the thing about fan tape-swapping sounds very interesting.

While these DVDs are fairly sparse, there's still more on these than on those from the start of the range.

The Nemesis one does have the Deleted and Extended Scenes though so it might atleast be somewhat interesting.

The problem with extras on DVDs is what exactly are you going to put on them. If its a film is not a problem but with Television shows and series where there have been so many you don't want to put the same thing on each one over and over.
Then there's the problem of releasing old product like Doctor Who, it's not like now when you produce something you also produce the extras at the same time.

The latest rumour doing the rounds is that Steve Roberts and Mark Ayres wanted to do the extended remix SE edition of Silver Nemeis, but Dan Hall vetoed out, as part of his ongoing feud with Ian Levine.
