Whereas you are much more selective, only turning up to do a bit of stirring every now and again.

Well, not really – I just can't see why this is a problem for anyone. It's giving everyone a choice, surely? Explain to me what I'm missing, please?

Put it this way. If they released original Star Trek DVDs with ST:TNG graphics, wouldn't fans complain?

Would have been annoed had they changed the covers with only a fraction of stories left (didn't they do something similar with the missing story CDs? )but reversible covers seems a good compromise.

Having new series branding isn't a problem as the show is a continuation and it always seemed strange to use the McGann logo which was only used once.

They used it because it was the current logo.

Indeed, though one with a much lower profile than the diamond logo

Does look better though, at least to me.

The McGann one was used because McGann was a direct continuation of the Classic Series unlike Eccleston.

The so-called McGann logo is just the Pertwee logo really.

The Pertwee logo is therefore also the McGann logo; having been used for two Doctors, it is clearly the true logo.

Apostate!

The only true logo is the wonky black and white affair.

Heretic!

Only the Arabic dub of the Hartnell era is canonical.

I'm not too pushed about the "reversible cover" thing either, as
long as all the sets and both types of cover look nice.
