Why can't the Cunts wait to do another Ressurection Release (a story I don't think warrants a re-release anyway, the first DVD was fine) till they release all the other stories first ???

If one was paranoid, one would suspect that Cunt Dan Hall is looking for more ways to exploit the fans.

Because the Restoration Team are goons. It pisses me off actually. I don't give a shit about the extras. No doubt we'll see another release of "The Five Doctors" as well - which isn't even a good story!

That already happened - two disc 25th Anniversary edition.

I know but they'll do it again. Has it been released 2 or 3 times now?

Pointless considering we have so many classic stories still waiting to be released. Morons.

EDIIT: OK, it's only 2. But do we really need 2 versions of Remembrance of the Daleks?

Great, love this story.

Aye, Frontios is a great story. Seems to get worse, though, when you actually see one of the insect things. The first 2 episodes are amazing. I remember when I first watched it and being really intrigued.

The deleted scenes are to be included as extras I believe and not as part of an extended edition of the dtory.

Actually, TFD and Remembrance are the only re-releases that were justifable. TFD because the first one only had the ghastly "special edition" on, and Remembrance because they fucked up the original royally by painting out and then forgetting to put back in important fx.

I remember reading about that Remembrance problem but I'm sure my one was fine! I might be wrong, but I have 2 other versions on VHS to compare it with. Yes that's right - 2 other versions because I was forced to buy it again in the Davros box set to get Genesis of the Daleks and Destiny which had been deleted at the time. This is why I feel no remorse for downloading all their shit. K9 and Company - no thanks! Laughing Laughing

I never bought the original 5 Doctors DVD. So it was completely unabridged? I always wondered why they did that with Doctor Who vhs releases. It actually ruins the enjoyment of it completely. It's nice to have a little snack break or to see the cliffhangers. Do they even think about anything they do for longer than 30 seconds?

Neither has cliffhangers. The original dvd release was of the godawful made-by-the-RT 1990s VHS "special edition", with about 10 minutes of extra footage (which was cut out because it slowed down the pace horribly and/or was crap) and hideous fake-looking CGI fx. With the original VHS out of print, this awful "SE" was the only version in the public domain for years.

JNT famously slagged it off in his memoirs for DWM, noting that it had been done without consulting anyone who actually made it and that they'd succeeded in turning "an exciting story into a boring yarn".
No wonder they don't want to make a doco about him. Laughing

I'm annoyed that I missed all the posting of sexy pics of DW companions so, one for the lads:

He is a bit cute. Irritating little fucker, but cute.

There is a further set of re-releases planned for next year as well. Robots of Death and Spearhead (possibly a Blu-Ray spearhead as well although this may not happen it has certainly been looked at).

Talons, with all of the awful artefacting problems, is going to be re-released with all of the usual tedious documentaries at some stage as well.

I also hear that the reason the extended Silver Nemesis was canned is that they expect to issue it separately in the future.

The RT and 2Entertain are desperately trying to work out a way of re-releasing/re-selling the DVD's once the range finishes in 2013. Expect re-releases from 2014 to take place.

According to Retards, Meh-glos is coming out next year. S'pose it's gotta come out sometime.

Anyone got any idea what this mystery special release being announced today might be?

I still think given the fact it's a dalek font means we're getting the Ice Warriors.
