Like CV, I am worried about the lack of classics teaching in modern Britain. I think I may have the solution: a children's television show based on the much-loved US programme which uses real actors and Muppets.

Yes, it's Persephone Street

Thus far, I have thought of the following characters:

Oscar the Cynic

Mega Ornithos

Patroclus and Achilles

Aristophanes the Frog

I must be the only person in Britain who was a child in the 90s to have absolutely no memories of Sesame Streettm.

Me neither - I wasn't allowed to watch ITV until 1981. But even I know who Miss Piggy is.

Fortunately, B, it seems that Sesame Street is already ahead of us:

I have fond memories of the Muppets and Sesame Street. I also have
vague memories of SS' Nickelodeon rival, "Pinwheel", which I think was
run on the Children's Channel.
