I see your point there, actually. They are more suitable for pop music, however, when I had some psychological problems in my younger years, listening to a compilation of various classical pieces on a walkman helped me sleep.

I hacked my iPod Touch by "jailbreaking" it. It now has a Java compiler and a Python compiler. Very Happy

I can also ssh into computers ( running ssh, obviously ).

It runs all the common Linux commands eg. ifconfig, bash etc. It's pretty much just a tiny computer running Linux.

Did I mention it also has wireless internet access, so it can scan nearby wireless routers and log in to the network?

Awesome, my friends. Simply awesome.

Waiting patiently for a C compiler. Very Happy

Laughing

Doesn't sound bad actually, at all. Could do with some better headphones, but they aren't bad. My main gripe with it, though, is that it doesn't play flacs. But 99% of players don't. That may change by being able to write a program on in for that purpose. It remains to be seen how much control it gives you over the kernel but it does allow you to log in as "root", so I expect it gives you access to everything. Very Happy

Well, maybe but at least Mac OS is stable and secure. Unlike most Microsoft products...

The Ubuntu disc I'm running firefox from right now seems to be fairly stable and secure too, but it didn't cost me a penny.

(I'm doing my annual hard drive(s) clean. Still can't be bothered to re-install Windows 7)

I might just end up using a linux boot disc for life they way things are going.

Yu0 run 05x86 u r t3h 1337

*Ahem* excuse me. (That was in reference to your earlier post regarding Snow Leopard btw.)

With regards to Ubuntu - do it. I'm assuming you're running 10.10, that was released yesterday? Wonderful operating system. I mean, 10.04 seemed beyond perfection; 10.10 has blown my fucking world away.

The Doctor would support the Open Source ideology, that's the way I see it. That is, if he liked computers!

Linux is also several billion times better and more advanced than Windows or Over-hyped Shit X.

I once installed Snow Leopard on a netbook, and thought it was a pile of absolute, complete and utter fucking Davies-esque shit.

Oh, and xM002x - you are now in my list of heroes.

I reckon you'll be deported for trying to hack nasa or something.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to hack really. Apart from simple stuff like SQL injection attacks and *ahem* wireless *cough* *splutter*.
networks

I'm trying to learn but it's a ridiculous amount of reading, and I spend far too much time on here and doing work for uni.

Jailbreaking an iPhone doesn't take any skill, you just download a program. Very Happy

No, it's 10.04. I have used Ubuntu before as I have a plethora of drives, but I'm not sure I can live without adobe and fruity.

Photoshop et al? They run on Ubuntu under WINE, I believe - CS5, the latest release, does at least. I'll try and find you a tutorial.

Why not just use GIMP?

Wine can be a bit buggy.

GIMP's great and I use it, but - and I rarely say this about Closed Source - Photoshop is better.

Maybe, yeah.

Unfortunately, it's kind of impossible not to use Windows occasionally.

I can still a achieve eargasm with headphones on. They're a bit like aural condoms - they dull the experience, but a shag is still a shag. Wink

I haven't got an iPod, but i do listen to MP3's on my phone when i'm on the the train and what have you. With headphones of course. Music sounds crap on phones, and it disturbs the other passengers.
Not that many people seem to care abut that these days.
I've got a lot of classical music on my phone, and i find that so long as the MP3s are max quality (320kb or whatever) then they sound great on the headphones. Obviously, i try not to sing along to Wagner whilst on the train as well. Wink Laughing

They are one and the same, except Apple try to pretend they aren't a money grabbing corporate enterprise by having slicker marketing.
