Ah, Welshmen kicking ass. Is that Ray Reardon in the back there? And Terry Griffiths in the front row?

Must be Snooker.

Here's hoping Ingerlund go out in the group stages so I can enjoy the world cup without the constant, inflated media bullshit about their chances of winning the tournament. I used to give a fuck, these days I don't.

Would rather see a proper footballing team win it than a shitty team of technically deficient bruisers.

At last. Someone who agrees with me Very Happy

I hope you enjoy these pictures:

Yep, the sooner Ingerland are out the better.
Less chance of getting yer head kicked in when all the Ingerland fans lose interest. Laughing

I'd rather like England to win this.

I was on a gig once at Center Parcs when Ingerland lost to France.
The football fan waiters kept nipping in the kitchen to listen to it on the radio. When it was over and one them sullenly announced that the 'frogs' had won, we were in between numbers, so i immediately took the opportunity to play the French national anthem.
Oh if looks could kill! Some of the punters saw the funny side, but one waiter in particular had a face like thunder.

Well, we were playing in a French restaurant after all! Laughing

South Africa 1 Mexico 1

And we're off. Except monky and Professor, who are both probably dreaming of how Iain Duncan Smith and Gakeon Osborne are going to save them from poverty rather than watch something as pointless as football.

An understandably cagey first half with one of the best offside decisions I've ever seen. Well done that lino!

The second half was great stuff, with both teams opening up. And what a fabulous goal from Simphiwe Tshabalala. It was a strike good enough to grace any World Cup game. Roll on tonight, when my team Uruguay are playing France.

South Africa's goalscorer Simphiwe Tshabalala in action for his club Kaiser Chiefs.

If there is anything in the world cup as a sure bet, this is it.

I thought South Africa were going to get a good beating when Mexico started far the better. Still, the second half saw some great football played by both sides. Lovely finish by Tshabalala.

I wonder how shit England will be tommorow?

My prediction: Mega shit.

Tshabala drew the plaudits but he won't score a goal like that again in his career. lol. Mexico were poor. South American teams are fantastic to watch from a technical perspective but a lot of their players can lack pace and strength. Some of their defenders aren't too good in the air either - which unfortunately is part of the game, too. So, fair play to South Africa. Didn't play the silky smooth passing like Mexico but they were effective never the less. Their pace up front was causing all sorts of problems for the Mexicans. This is going to be a tough group to qualify from. Could we be seeing Mexico's first exit at the group stages since..er.. a long time!? I expect them to improve and qualify but then again Uruguay aren't no mugs, either.

England will win against the USA from a set piece or something. They will qualify from the group fairly comfortably. Then we'll reach the quarter-finals and realise that we actually need people in the team with a hint of flair and creativity, rather than just having tall/big/fast/strong players. We will lose and the papers will scapegoat a player or the manager and blame everything on them, making their life a living hell for the next few years. Some idiot will write a song and perform it on YouTube whilst crying. Everyone will moan about how poor English players are technically blaming "grass roots" investment whilst ignoring the problem that our pitches are mud baths and we chose to play in the Winter. Repeat in 4 years.
